What Time Do Short Drama Channels Post on YouTube? Almost Always on the Hour
Four in five uploads on seven official short drama channels go up in the first minute of an hour, at the same few times every day. ReelShort's full-length uploads land at 7 and 10 a.m. New York time; GoodShort Episodes at 8 and 10.

If you follow a short drama channel on YouTube, the new uploads seem to arrive at random. They do not. We took every upload the official channels posted between 1 June and 28 September 2026 and looked at the time stamp on each one.
Of 1,902 uploads on seven official English-language channels, 1,516 — 79.7% — went up in the first minute of an hour. These channels schedule their uploads, and most of them use the same two or three slots every day.
The schedule, channel by channel
Times are in UTC first, then New York and London as they were over the summer (New York four hours behind UTC, London one hour ahead):
| Official channel | Uploads per day | Main slots (UTC) | New York | London | On the hour |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ReelShort | 4.8 | 11:00 and 14:00 for full-length; 01:00 and 07:00 for trailers | 7 a.m., 10 a.m.; 9 p.m., 3 a.m. | noon, 3 p.m.; 2 a.m., 8 a.m. | 90% |
| DramaBox | 3.0 | spread across 12:00–15:59 (87%), most often 12:00 | 8–11 a.m. | 1–4 p.m. | 68% |
| GoodShort Moments | 2.4 | 13:00 (38%), 15:00, 11:00 | 9 a.m. | 2 p.m. | 82% |
| GoodShort Episodes | 1.9 | 12:00 (47%) and 14:00 (48%) | 8 a.m., 10 a.m. | 1 p.m., 3 p.m. | 99% |
| ShortMax – Watch Dramas & Show | 1.9 | 10:00 (45%), 16:00 | 6 a.m., noon | 11 a.m., 5 p.m. | 57% |
| MoboReels | 1.2 | 12:00 (47%), 11:00, 13:00 | 8 a.m. | 1 p.m. | 94% |
| FlexTV English | 0.7 | 11:19 (38%), 11:00 | 7:19 a.m. | 12:19 p.m. | 31% |
For most of these channels, if you are in North America, new uploads land in your morning; in Britain, around lunchtime.
Three details worth knowing
ReelShort splits its slots by format. Every one of its 77 uploads at 11:00 and 76 at 14:00 is full-length — not a single clip among them. Every one of the 36 uploads at 01:00 is a clip under three minutes, and the 07:00 slot is a mix. So if you are waiting for a full-length ReelShort upload rather than another trailer, 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. New York time are the moments to check. (Those trailers, we found separately, usually go up about two weeks after the series is already in the app.)
FlexTV posts at 11:19. Not 11:00 — nineteen minutes past, on 30 of its 80 uploads since June. It is the one channel here that schedules to an odd minute, and it has done so since at least last winter.
ShortMax’s English channel is busiest on Thursdays — 89 of its 227 uploads, or 39%. But 71 of those 89 are Shorts. Its full-length uploads are spread evenly across the week: 18 on Thursdays, 102 across the other six days.
Winter is different
For five of the channels we also hold uploads from last winter (2 November 2025 to 8 March 2026, when New York and London were on standard time). Comparing the two seasons:
- GoodShort Moments stayed at 13:00 UTC (59% of winter uploads, 38% of summer ones), and FlexTV stayed at 11:19 UTC (74% in winter). Their schedules are fixed to the clock in UTC, not to US or UK time — so when clocks go back this autumn (25 October in the UK, 1 November in the US), their uploads will appear an hour earlier on your local clock: 8 a.m. instead of 9 in New York for GoodShort Moments.
- ShortMax’s English channel moved from 12:00 UTC in winter to 10:00 in summer. That is two hours, so it is a change of schedule, not daylight saving.
- MoboReels was spread across several times last winter and has settled on 12:00 UTC since June.
We hold no winter uploads from ReelShort or DramaBox, so we cannot say whether theirs shift.
Not covered here
ShortMax’s multilingual channel runs a separate schedule, in seven languages, at half past or ten past the hour — 10:30 and 10:10 UTC are its most common slots, and only 19% of its uploads go up on the hour. We cover what that channel posts in a separate piece.
The time on YouTube is not the time in the app. These are the moments each upload went public on YouTube. When a series or an episode becomes available inside the app is a separate schedule we cannot see from outside.
What to do with it
- Check at the slot, not all day. For GoodShort Episodes, 8 or 10 a.m. New York; for ReelShort full-length uploads, 7 or 10 a.m.
- Expect an hour’s shift after the clocks change on GoodShort Moments and FlexTV, and possibly others.
- If you are looking for a particular show rather than the next upload, search the line you remember in our Clip Finder instead of waiting for the feed.
What we measured
The public upload time of every video on seven official English-language channels belonging to six apps — ReelShort, DramaBox, GoodShort (two channels), ShortMax, MoboReels and FlexTV — posted from 1 June to 28 September 2026, as recorded by YouTube, read on 28 September. “On the hour” means the upload went public in the first minute of an hour. Each channel’s record covers its most recent few hundred uploads. For six of the seven that reaches back well before 1 June; ReelShort’s begins partway through 1 June itself, so at most a couple of its uploads from that first day are missing. The winter comparison uses the same data wherever it reaches back that far.
